Tim Holtz Fragments

Have you had a chance or have you heard of Tim Holtz Fragments. These acrylic pieces are a lot of fun to play with and so easy to use. In the above picture you can see two ways to use these. The first way I just adhered it to the paper and painted over the top. You can add a thin layer of paint and then go back over the top with another color for a mixed look or just keep it simple with one color. I added some pen work for a final touch. What I love about painting them is that it stands up off the page and just pops. For the brown piece I used glue to adhere the acrylic to the paper. Once it was dry I then cut off the edges and glued it to my page. By doing this it gives the block a whole different look. With light coming in thru the edges it can give a glittery appearance. As I am sitting here typing this I just happen to think how cool it would look to take a little pearlex powder and mix it with your glue before adhering the block down. This would give it a really cool shimmer. If you have a lot of scraps...this would be a great way to use up those scraps and then adhere them all to a card front for a very unique card. The blocks come in all sorts of sizes and I know I plan on having a lot more fun with them. My next set of pieces I make will be using alcohol inks. Now that is going to be fun don't cha think ;) Give these acrylic pieces a try. I promise you will love them.
