I don't know about you but my scrap box is running over with some yummy scraps that I just can't throw away. Every once in a while it is nice to just go thru that box and mix match patterns and papers to use on a card, altered item or even a layout.
For this layout I didn't go thru my box but I used what scraps I had from the July kit and used the strips along the bottom. The colors are so rich and just yummy to work with.
When working with different colored scraps and different patterns you want to make sure that your pictures are not taken over by the patterns. So I decided to go with pictures that were along the same color family so that they would stand out a little more than the paper.
Add your journaling (which I used one of these cool sheer journaling blocks) and some chipboard...penwork...and you have created a simple layout that uses up some of those scraps or leftovers.
