Fun with the beaded curtains...

I looked at the beaded curtains from Buzz and Bloom included in the kit for quite some time...deciding exactly what I wanted to create using these unique pieces...
I decided to first change the color of the piece, so I covered the entire length with Colorbox chalk ink.

I repeated this for my second piece as well. I then cut all the small pieces apart.
I decided to create a flower from the trimmed pieces. I threaded some string through a button from my stash and added it to the center of my flower. I used one of the rubons from the kit on a piece of the scrap cardstock; adding the darker cardstock from my stash; which I embossed using the Swiss dots Cuttlebug template.

I challenge you to think outside the box and look at what you might be able to create from these beaded curtains!

Last minute valentine idea

If you're looking for a last minute valentine card idea; look no further than the wonderful buzz and bloom arrows that are inside the February kit...

The arrow was perfect to show off the cute heart I cut from a scrap of red paper and inked... this lined Jillibeans pattern paper reminded me of school lettering paper, so I added some puffy thickers from my stash to spell out my love note...

finish off your card with some extra inking along the edges and there you go...a perfect quick valentine that is sure to brighten the day of someone special!

Pre-designed tags

When I started playing with the papers in the October I Am A Scrapaholic's kit, I was in love and then I found the tags! Oh my goodness, they match so well and make the most perfect accent and greeting on a card.
I sewed around this tag for some added interest.
I added one of the crystal brads to the larger flower and added some smaller crystals to the other flowers but first I coated the flowers and the large "U" with Ranger's Glossy Accents.

Having Paper is a Good Thing

Our scrapbook paper doesn't have to just be used for scrapbook pages and cards. Depending on the weight of the paper, there are so many fun projects that can be created. Mine is the most perfect way to give a friend a gift. After all, it is about the packaging!!
My bag is about 4 1/2" tall and 6" wide. I used directions that I found online at One Little Spark. Basically you are going to use a 12" square piece of paper. I used my Scor-Pal because it is just so handy for things like this. I scored at 3" and at 9", I turned the paper and then scored, from the opposite direction, at 4 1/2" and at 7 1/2". Folding the sides of the bag aren't hard, they are just a bit tricky so you need to read the directions that she gives on One Little Spark.
My handle was created by cutting a 5" x 12" piece of paper and then I folded it so that it ended up being 2" wide. You can see in the photo that I used 2 brads on each side for cute accents but also to hold it all together. I did partially glue the handle on and glue the sides closed.
The whole reason this project started is because I just HAD to cut out one of the flower designs from the Harvest Bouquet patterned paper. I accented it with the Metallic Fabric Dimensional paint, that looks almost like pearls when it is dry. I also used green Stickles. The butterfly is punched with my brand new Martha Stewart punch and I coated it with copper Stickles.

Thanks for visiting, Linda
