LOVE - BIRD card - what do you do with Chipboard?

You have a plain piece of chipboard and you aren't sure what to do with it? You can leave it like it is because that really is a great look, but you also have a few other fun alternatives.
For this bird, I covered it with a coordinating paper. Simply trace the shape on the paper and cut it out. Typically when you trace something like this, your cut out piece will end up a little bigger then the original, so just place the cut out piece over the original and trim it to the correct size. Now you just have to glue it on. I used Zig 2-way glue but another really great choice is Mod Podge - giving the paper shape a thorough coat. Tapes don't really work all that good for something like this because they don't give a complete coat of glue. The Mod Podge is also a great choice if you are also wanting to coat the top side of your piece. When my piece was dry, I used a fingernail type of file and sanded all of my edges. This helps make it all look uniform.

Another fun and easy choice it to give it a good coat of any of the many types of glitter glues that are available. First of all, I painted the tiny crown with a white paint and then I used the Ice Stickles because of the intense amount of glitter you get without loose glitter falling off when it is dry. A draw back to this method is the drying time but just set it aside to dry overnight. Of course, you can just give it a coat of paint in a matching color and rubbing stamp pads to it is another way to add color and the stamp pads can be useful for color matching is you are going to use the stamp pad on your project in another way.
