"be mine" Valentines Centerpiece

A little late, but it's still February. right?

I bought some miscellaneous wood pieces at Michaels and used them to make this Valentine's centerpiece with the February kit. It was such a fun project to make and it made my house look so festive during the holiday of love....:)

bottom close up

Scrap Kit:

SEI Jolie Chocolat/Nougat, Raisine, Mi Amor, Framboise, Bonbonier, Papillon,
Éclair, Rose
Prima Ribbon
Bazzill Chipboard heart tag
Heidi Swapp Glitter flower
MM Ready to Glitter Alphabet
Stampendous Ultra-fine Glitter

Addict Kit:
Heidi Swapp Mini Chipboard
Heidi Swapp Bling Cherries

Card Kit:
Prima Embossed Hearts
Doodlebug Designs Paper Posies
Maya Road Chipboard birds

Other:
Ranger ink
Prima Say It in Crystals (from last month's kit)
Acrylic paint
Paper Studio acrylic letters
DMD crinkle paper
Darice wood products
Plaid modge podge and ZipDry

Directions:

- Paint the hearts and dowels brown

- Paint the wood base white

- Borrow hubby's electric drill and make holes the size of the dowels in the bottom of the painted hearts. Insert dowels into holes. (If hole is the same size as the dowel, you won't need adhesive)

Note: Some of you are going to fall of the train here because of the drill part - but DON'T!

It's not that hard AND it's a great way to take out some frustration...:)
- Adhere patterned paper to all hearts and cut out with an exacto knife

- Use a smaller stencil to cut out the heart with "mine" on it

- Paint acrylic letters brown and adhere them to a Prima Embossed heart. Add the posie and adhere this to the box

- Cut out the rest of your patterned paper embellishments for the hearts and adhere them, as well as the ready-to-go embellishments that come with the kit...decorate! decorate! decorate!

- Cut a block floral foam to fit inside the base

- Arrange your hearts in the floral foam. Cover the foam with crinkle paper.
Have Fun!

CARD & MATCHING ENVELOPE

What could be better then to get a handmade card in the mail and have the envelope match plus have the envelope have a printed, matching liner!?
The I Am A Scrapaholic card kit for February comes with envelopes that are die cut from the solid SEI papers and liners that are die cut from the patterned papers. Everything matches so well.
The completely unexpected thing about the design on this card is the pattern isn't really hearts but you can see a "heart" in the ornate design so I just cut that out.
LOVE – ORNATE card and envelope
Designer: Linda Beeson
Materials:
Patterned paper – Papillion, Bonbonier, and Café Aulait textured/Jolie Chocolat/SEI
Die Cut for envelope and liner
Chipboard bookplate – Heidi Swapp

Out from Behind the Camera-February challenge.

We have decided to change the format of the OFBC challenge series. It will now be monthly rather than weekly. For anyone who hasn't participated before, the idea is to be sure to include yourself in your scrapbooks, with these "Book of Me" style challenges. Each time I post a challenge I will also post a sketch to inspire you for that challenge,as well as provide you with a sample layout using the sketch.

So, onto the new challenge. This month is all about Valentines day, but rather than scrap about the people you love, I am challenging you to scrap a layout about why you think people love you. Put a different perspective on the occassion.

In my layout I have used the title "Love me becasue..." You are welcome to also use this title or to use the concept for your layotu and journaling.

Here is the sketch:

and my sample layout:

Load your entries to the I Am A Scrapaholic gallery by the end of them month. Can't wait to see them.
